This Weekend in Europe

Post by Mark62 »

Clermont looking very impressive with a bonus point win in the mud at the rec.
Young Spanish born winger in for Penaud 2 tries and a big assist in a 10 minute spell.

Austin Healey being particularly whinney during commentary

Agen put to the sword by Bordeaux, that’s how we should be tomorrow!

Springbok winger Cheslyn Kolbe will be on the bench for Toulouse tomorrow afternoon's game against Montpellier.

Starting XV:
15. Ramos ; 14. Huget, 13. Guitoune, 12. Ntamack, 11. Médard ; 10. Holmes, 9. Bézy ; 7. Cros, 8. Kaino (c), 6. Elstadt ; 5. Tekori, 4. Arnold ; 3. Aldegheri, 2. J. Marchand, 1. Baille.
Replacements : 16. Mauvaka, 17. Castets, 18. Tafili, 19. Gray, 20. Tolofua, 21. Pagès, 22. Akhi, 23. Kolbe

I'd expect Toulouse to win but Montpellier will be a tough nut to crack, especially after they inflicted a heavy defeat on leaders Lyon last weekend. The Montpellier team is yet to be announced.

Wayne Barnes will be the referee.

Another World Cup winner, Eben Etzebeth will make his début for Toulon from the replacements' bench in this afternoon's match against London Irish.

You’ll know that some French clubs give low priority to the Challenge Cup, Agen and Brive, for example. However, I think that Toulon will give it all they’ve got.

I was disappointed he didn’t get more game time last night but Clermont’s Api Naqalevu is a good player perhaps worth investing.

The Saints v Leinster result tells us that the gulf between Tigers and top flight European teams has never been so wide. It makes me wonder if Tigers will ever get back to being the force in Europe they used to be.

Never say never. Things change.

It's less than 4 years since Leinster conceded 50 points to Wasps.

Quins very unlucky losing in Ulster only a huge brain fart by one of their Fijian forwards to give a late penalty losing it.

Ospreys red card after 37 seconds.. going to be a tough one vs Racing after that! Always harsh that kind of incident as no intent but I guess by the letter of the law...

Very similar to Odogwu for Sale the other week, can’t have people being kicked in the face accident or not

Saracens get losing bonus point at Munster, meaning Munster have now only got 6 points from a possible 10 in their 2 home games.
Saracens are still in this with 2 home games and an away at ospreys they could end up on 21 points
