I suspect it was because he introduced a proper warm up session, and the old boys didn’t like it.

He also wanted a move away from the traditional 10 man game espoused by Cockerill as other teams worked out the (one and only) game plan. And that was never going to do.

I suspect it was actually because he led us to our record home defeat and was a total embarrassment. Mauger was a total failure. The fact the board :censored: the bed even worse by appointing Matt O'Connor does not make Mauger's spell any less embarrassing. If you take out the Murphy coached Anglo-Welsh Cup games & triumph Mauger's record was as bad as Murphy's current run.

I suppose it could be argued the player cartel and the lack of skill set meant that Mauger was always doomed to fail but he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire for the Highlanders.

According to my source at the time, long gone, Mauger was the favourite of some senior players, whereas Cockers emphatically was not. At least one of those players was also a favourite of MOC :smt004

In addition to the daily or twice-daily emails about Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals on last year's kit.

It was Loffreda who brought in a proper warm-up.

I stand corrected - but they did for him too, although his biggest problem was not bringing in his own staff, so he was undermined by the old boys too!

I thought Mauger was starting to make a difference, and that the board got rid of the wrong coach.

I guess it comes to something when you wish we had lost all 5 games so far with a LBP. We would be level on points with wasps and could even be 10th :smt017
