Just read through social media that he is suffering from stage 4 cancer.
One of the great bolters of Lions history, to cement his place in the 97 pack to subdue the mighty Springbok.
Really sad news and hoping for a recovery

Very sad interview with Eleanor Oldroyd - hoping for the best but, inevitably, preparing for the worst.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Tom Smith
Sad news indeed.
Always enjoyed watching him play even if he was a Saint for awhile. I guess even the best have their aberrations. My 2nd favourite loosehead of all time behind the one and only Marcos Ayerza.
All the best in the tough times ahead, Tom!

Tragic news. Anchored the scrum with Paul Wallace in 1997 South Africa for the Lions. A true warrior.
