Good point. I am still puzzled by the enthusiasm for Borthwick on this basis. Been good for England as forwards and lineout coach, but has no track record as an overall coach, or in a 'turnaround' situation. Might be very good, but an unknown quantity.
He also coached the Japanese forwards with Eddie in the 2015 world cup. He knows how to get a pack organised.

MOC bought in Johnny May.....
At the cost of Ed Slater because at that time we really could afford to lose quality from the pack.

Our problems this season so far have not actually been the forwards, we have been lacking in the backs and possibly the unavailability of Youngs, Ford, Tuilagi, May, Vieanu plus the usual injuries may have contributed to that.

If only!! - when have you seen our forward change the point of attack, recycle, link in phase after phase over the gain line, even the base of the ruck is often unprotected and inconsistent. All that boils down to poor coaching, the guys have the talent but are not functioning due to a lack of direction. The system isn't working, how the England boys will fix that, if at all, remains to be seen.
