I’ll gladly buy his train ticket for the interviewRagingBull wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 10:58 pm Fissler front page of the rugby paper, saying Saints are lining up Youngs if talks fail between him and us.
Sounds like agent , but at the same time so obscure it could well be true.
I kind of hope it's true.

Top international scrum half get vilified by supporters because the forward pack has no dynamism and can't run any sort of line, decoy or line breaking, to save their lives and the inept coaches can't utilise his strengths in any sort of decent game plan.
Funny how everyone is saying how well Saints are playing and what a great job Vesty and Boyd are doing but are happy to lose one of our top players to them at the same time...

I agree with your point, except this isn’t a one off occurrence, he has very rarely transferred his England form to a Tigers shirt over the last 2 seasons.Cardiff Tig wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:09 am Top international scrum half get vilified by supporters because the forward pack has no dynamism and can't run any sort of line, decoy or line breaking, to save their lives and the inept coaches can't utilise his strengths in any sort of decent game plan.

On another thread someone has said that Jones will pick him anyway, I don’t think that is necessarily the case any longer

I don't think Youngs plays as badly as he's accused of on here, he's been on the back foot behind a bullied forward pack for years. Not a lot you can do from 9 when the forwards can't deliver clean ball to save their lives and the tactical 'plan' is three decades out of date.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
Again you make a valid point, especially when only Cole Thompson and Lavanini turned up yesterday.CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:27 am I don't think Youngs plays as badly as he's accused of on here, he's been on the back foot behind a bullied forward pack for years. Green has been a huge disappointment, Wells is not 6 and the others well
At least Sam Lewis tried when he came on, it was just far too late

But Youngs can't blame the forwards for box kiciking out on the full or too far giving the dangerous Saints back 3 space to run.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
Not all his kicks were dross yesterday including the one that Lavanini falconed, but there were far too many for a scrum with nearly a 100 test capsRagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:36 am But Youngs can't blame the forwards for box kiciking out on the full or too far giving the dangerous Saints back 3 space to run.

I've no idea what clean ball has to do with Youngs kicking yesterday as they set up a caterpillar to perform most of it, and what was Ford's excuse!CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:27 am I don't think Youngs plays as badly as he's accused of on here, he's been on the back foot behind a bullied forward pack for years. When you've got two doing it then it's one of two possibilities, they were told to do it or they both played rubbish!
I also don't recall Healey, Hamilton, Ellis etc playing that way!
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
About the only half-decent kick yesterday was Forsyth's! At least it turned a defender, even if we had no one chasing!
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
Why is the quality of the kicks being discussed, we are Tigers, we should be playing not kicking possession away all game. That's all we do all game now. We don't pass because we drop it, we lose set plays, we can't win a line out so we kick. But we should be saying stop kicking and play the ball, keep possession. It's just a shame we cannot do that anymore because we are no longer good enough.

Ellis Genge made a good line break and offload to Lavanini yesterday and was slated by a poster on another topic for playing badly which was absolute tosh!
It was the best Leicester play of the entire match.
The break broke down but then many more Saints attacks also broke down.
Plays will break down, the point is you keep trying.
Genge is exactly the type of player in every position that Leicester need moving forward.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
Genge himself in his post match interview admits he was rubbish. One break with one off load the rest was headless chicken stuffBFG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 12:41 pmI agree.trevb wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 12:23 pm Why is the quality of the kicks being discussed, we are Tigers, we should be playing not kicking possession away all game. The headless chicken stuff happens when others are passive by comparison.

A lot of £.
Same as Bigger.
"As Sportsmail reported last week, Bristol were interested if Ford left the Tigers but sources have indicated that he loves Leicester and is desperate to drag them up from 11th in the table."
