February to September. Would rule him out of the 6N which would be an odd move having fought his way back into contention plus he gets cash for each appearance.

Maybe a half season, May to September jaunt? Sabbaticals are becoming very popular with players. Joe Marchant going down to Super Rugby. Loads of Super Rugby players doing stints in Japan.

No they are saying 2-3 year contract and he would return to Tigers

Which would be stupid considering now is his prime.

genge's reply :smt003
Not sure what he is seeking proof of.....whether he has received alot of interest from elsewhere,
whether he is keen to stay or whether negotiations are ongoing?

Not sure we'd be mad keen to bring back a 30 year old Manu after he's subjected himself to multiple seasons of running into brick walls in league. If he wants to shorten his career then that's the way to do it.

Doesn't seem to have cut Sonny Bill Williams' career short.

Different people are built differently. Sonny Bill is a monster that loves contact and an offload. That's not Manu's style, when coaches have billed Manu up and run him into contact he's ended up with injuries, lots of injuries. Leaner than he's been in years his form is good and he's fit, now running at shoulders and breaking tackles or stepping back into desperate tacklers instead of a set wall sees him a lot more dangerous.

The Wolfpack Head coach even said
"I don't think Manu is going to be a centre who outpaces people, but will certainly rely on how robust he is"

So Manu saying he has no plans to leave Tigers.

Saying he doesn't want to look too far into the future and focus more on the now and he has 2 years at Tigers.

Which isn't a million miles off the number of players you listed on page one of this thread.

1.Genge, Bateman, Gigena, Hills
2.Youngs, Polota-Nau
3.Cortes
4.Spencer
5.
6.
7.Thompson
8.Kalamafoni

9.Harrison
10.Ford

11.May
12.Eastmond
13.
14.Thompstone
15.Worth, Aspland-Robinson

That's 17 players there who would be my guess.

Polota-Nau is on a big contract which I'd like us to use to target someone such as Nick Isiekwe. OTY was also an international when last re-signed so will be on a reduced contract. Cortes and Hills are realistically surplus to requirements currently. There's a good bit of cap to invest in the forwards right there.

Loosehead is a worry with all three potentially out of contract.

Ford, May and Thompson are vital players to re-sign.

Worth was rumoured to have signed for Wasps for next season. Has that gone quiet now?

Agree re Ford and May, would add Genge to that list. Thompson is getting on a bit, possibly worth another year.
In order to build a squad as well you need to bring through your own talent, but also look to pick up some, for want of a better term nearly internationals.
For me both Isekwie and Ben Earls fall in that category, both of test match class but because of the quality of depth in their position are unlikely to get more than a handful of caps each.
Also wonder how happy Polledri and Ludlam are at Gloucester with the arrival of Bok international back rowers
