Exchange with Matt Banahan. He isn't dissimilar in style, can play centre, proven finisher and puts in a good shift every time he puts on a rugby jersey. Age against him, but, short term, a great influence on younger players coming through, and shouldn't cause a problem to the CAPMark62 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:24 amWould be an interesting move for him to return to Glaws, one of the few clubs he would have to fight for a starting spottrendylfj wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:05 am Buw JM's move to Sarries seems to be off he is now rumoured to be returning to Glaws - https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/rug ... er-3744111

So what are we looking at so far for 2020/21 season.
Henry to replace McPhillips
Alemanno to replace Spencer
Lam or Nadalo to replace May
Hughes to replace Thompstone

Maybe but Thorley and Zammit Smith are both excellent young wingers who will fight hard for their spots and are used to the Gloucester systemScott1 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:05 amcrazy talk!May is one of the worlds best wingers!Mark62 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:24 amWould be an interesting move for him to return to Glaws, one of the few clubs he would have to fight for a starting spottrendylfj wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:05 am Buw JM's move to Sarries seems to be off he is now rumoured to be returning to Glaws - https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/rug ... er-3744111
As for Banahan he is very much a squad player there, more likely to be Sharples

Looks decent though the biggest surprise for me was the size of the crowds at second division games - more than most Saracens games!drc_007 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 7:18 amEveryone has a highlights reel these daysbaz1664 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:03 pm https://www.ruck.co.uk/rugby-transfer-r ... -fly-half/

Unless Lam or Nadalo are significantly cheaper than retaining May (and assuming the potential signings are indeed linked) I don't really see the benefit.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:54 am So what are we looking at so far for 2020/21 season.

I think the expectation is that they would be cheaper.Flash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 12:52 pmUnless Lam or Nadalo are significantly cheaper than retaining May (and assuming the potential signings are indeed linked) I don't really see the benefit.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:54 am So what are we looking at so far for 2020/21 season.

Surely our priority is to survive first before spending vast sums, and that wold mean very late decisions, and possibly losing out on these signings? Difficult decision, spend or not spend!Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 1:21 pmI think the expectation is that they would be.Flash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 12:52 pmUnless Lam or Nadalo are significantly cheaper than retaining May (and assuming the potential signings are indeed linked) I don't really see the benefit.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:54 am So what are we looking at so far for 2020/21 season.

Not sure why that would be the case.LE18 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 1:30 pmSurely our priority is to survive first before spending vast sums, and that wold mean very late decisions, and possibly losing out on these signings? Difficult decision, spend or not spend!
Our back room side of things can work separately from the first team coaching.
Clauses can be put in place if needed.

I'm a May fan but having big players available all year round would be great for club sustainability.
I certainly wouldn't want to loose our England/home nations core, but loosing too many just causes us to be short in key areas for a lot of the season. Its always a balancing act but at the end of the day if we start winning (and are inside the salaray cap) we won't be bothered what name is on the back of the shirts....

Yeah you need a mix of both. Maybe having 6 called up into the EPS for the last 2 seasons hasn’t helped us during the internal windows. Having players like Taufua and potentially a Southern Hemisphere finisher around all year will massively help.ads wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 3:25 pm I'm a May fan but having big players available all year round would be great for club sustainability.
