Re: Leicester vs Saracens
Can’t really pick a player when he’s been on and off injured for 18 months or so.
Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of Simmons and believe he could be Tigers main man but he hasnt played much rugby in a while so it’s understandable, I also don’t get these little snide comments about a young academy player who has captained England U18’s, England U20’s and played for England v the Barbarians.
And the comment about Shazam being streets ahead of White has not been true this past couple years.

Re: Leicester vs Saracens
Simmons might be a better player but he hasn't exactly been available for selection that much, I reserve judgement on the 9's till we see them play with/off Taufua, it might improve YBY's performance.......
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Re: Leicester vs Saracens
I've just watched Will Spencer being interviewed on LTTV.
https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/po ... gp1-201920
He talks of the team not having had "the fight and hunger" for the Worcester game.
More than 'exit strategies', handling errors and tactical blunders - that worries me.

Re: Leicester vs Saracens
Hopefully the arrival of Mr Borthwick will get rid of this issue. Outsider, no link to Tigers and fresh pair of eyes.strawclearer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 6:54 pm I've just watched Will Spencer being interviewed on LTTV.

Hope it’s a one off and not the start of last season again.
We have to take into account our internationals not being available but “no fight and hunger” is not acceptable.
There is never any points for 2nd place...
Re: Leicester vs Saracens
I think Viljoen’s interview was more to the point.

This does not bode well and frankly what does it say about our much vaunted summer recruitment???strawclearer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 6:54 pm I've just watched Will Spencer being interviewed on LTTV.

Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: Leicester vs Saracens
He says that the fight and hunger some battles were lost, not the team not having it.strawclearer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 6:54 pm I've just watched Will Spencer being interviewed on LTTV.

Re: Leicester vs Saracens
That no. 20 from Notts? who came on v Saints looked quite useful, would it not be worth giving him another go, or has he gone back to Notts?
Re: Leicester vs Saracens
His name is Ifereimi Boladau and I agree as he had the look of a Nathan Hughes about him. He made breaks, offloaded very well and seemed to have more of a The Tigers fighting spirit about him than many others. I just fear Murphy is too scared to play an attacking game so won’t pick him.
Today’s game in the Premiership is all about attacking quickly. Bristol, Saints, London Irish And Gloucester did this at the week end, and won.
Kick the ball to Goode, Spencer etc on Sunday and we will soon be facing another defeat.
I hope to see us really go for it. No excuses Geordan; you are the man in charge, if you cannot get the squad “ up for it” then we will be back to the way we performed last season.

Re: Leicester vs Saracens
Boladau plays like Hughes, just with a few kilos lighter. I hope he stays for the season personally.
