England v Australia and other Quarters

Post by Mark62 »

Weekend isn’t far away, what do we think Eddies team will be, AND who are you going for to win the other games.

Forwards
Marler, George, Sinclair, Itoje, kruis, Curry, Underhill, Billy

Backs
Youngs, Ford, May, Farrell, Tuilagi, Watson, Daley

Bench
Cowan-Dickie, Mako, Cole, Lawes, Ludlam, Heinz, Slade, Cokanasinga

I’m going for wins for New Zealand, South Africa and France in the other games

Team has been pretty much leaked as the above, bar Joseph in for Cokanasiga on the bench.

I think Jack Nowell will be on the bench instead of Cokanasinga, or maybe even starting with Watson on the bench

Don’t think Nowell is fit otherwise he’d be on the bench for sure.

As for my team I don’t think I would go any different. With those 2 loose heads and Mako’s lack of game time I think they are the right way round. If Mako starts possibly Ellis off the bench.

Now that would be a bit of French flair..... to win when they don't even make you semis list 😂

SKY Sports saying same though it could just be circular/regurgitated reporting.

On England website too:

I really feel sorry for George - what more does he have to do?

Slade, fine player though he is, has played less than 40 mins rugby in 6 months.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

I really don’t understand why Jones has dropped George Ford! If The undroppable Farrell were the better fly half, but he clearly isn’t (not just my opinion but many others) and Farrell’s recent form hasn’t exactly set the world alight, has it? Never thought I’d be saying this, but c’mon Australia!, if it means that Jones does the decent thing and falls on his sword.
