And also the two bonkers calls to pack down with only 7 forwards after the red.Nostradamus wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:16 am No - Elbow to the face in a World Cup knock out game lost them the match

I would argue it was missed French conversions but regardless - quel dommage

I agree with Scott, the Welsh try shouldn’t have stood.

Or at 37 minutes with a man advantage in the pack not going for the corner.Robespierre wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:23 amSheer madness! and if one of those conversions had gone over....Nostradamus wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:16 am No - Elbow to the face in a World Cup knock out game lost them the match
Jake Ball's shoulder to head trying to stop the French try might be looked at

Peyper showing yet again that he doesn't know his en arrière from his en avant.

Vahaamahina was clearly annoyed at something, think it was more than getting up on the wrong side of his bed in the morning.

Re: England v Australia and other Quarters
Forget the forward rip,the decision not to give a scrum penalty to France on Wales line was shocking! That was very likely 3 points and likely game over.

Thank God I don't live in Wales anymore. A decade there made me hope that Wales never won another match.

Great to see such emotion and passion for both National Anthems - Japan v South Effrika. See how Wayne Barnes gets on!
Re: England v Australia and other Quarters
Love the stripes on the Japanese kit, Tigers should utilise them but in our colours, it would make a spectacular kit!!

Great game. In the end SA had too much power but Japan were fantastic to watch not just today but all through the tournament. Wayne Barnes was excellent as we have come to expect.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
Re: England v Australia and other Quarters
Sooner or later someone was going to impose a power game on Japan.
Ireland were a side that was over the hill and simply couldn’t do it.
Scotland’s game is about avoiding a forward grind up and we’re too naive or stubborn to change and paid the price.
Well done Japan for putting a bit of excitement into what had been a dull World Cup until then.
As for France they were the cause of their own downfall. Some of the red cards have been for carelessness but this red was blatant foul play and I would imagine he might find the changing room rather frosty. Over recent years they have only begun to look a decent side deep into world cups and again this time too.

Re: England v Australia and other Quarters
WAL vs FRA .... FRA score two quick tries against the famous WAL defence .. you wouldn't have predicted that. WAL don't panic and battle on. FRA brain dead red card kills match. You expect WAL to quickly pull back and win well. They didn't. You would expect FRA to capitulate and implode. They didn't. FRA missed two very easy kicks. WAL attacking rip clearly forward for me and WAL get try to squeeze through by a point. RSA wont be so kind ??
