My initial thoughts are that Billy Vunipola had an anonymous match on Saturday and I hope he will be replaced by Wilson. Singleton needs game time so I’d have him in the starting XV as should Genge. Watson should be given the chance to play fullback. Joseph and Slade need game time and Nowell too. As I mentioned a week or so ago, I’d give my month’s pension to see Huget flattened by Cokanasiga! George Ford - should he be wrapped in cotton wool for the QF?

Just announced on BBC it’s cancelled - wonder whether the Japan vs Scotland game on Sunday in the same stadium will also fall foul of the weather (or as the Scots will call it - a conspiracy ).

Does beg the question, why has it been held now? All other world cups have been held in our Summer, as far as I remember. So why have it later than normal, if that's still in typhoon season?

Re: England v France
Your memory is wrong in this occasion - they've only been in our summer in 1987 and 1995 (NZ and SA). They're typically mid September to late October, sometimes they're a bit later.northerntiger wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:15 am Does beg the question, why has it been held now? The weirdest one was 2003 in Australia taking place in October & November
Re: England v France
Just read that this typhoon is 2 1/2 times stronger than the previous one that caused over £400 of damage.northerntiger wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:15 am Does beg the question, why has it been held now? Let's not worry too much about the cancellation of this match cos we'll beat them in the final!

A US naval typhoon expert puts it well, “it was an historic amount of intensification in such a short time..like if you had a fire and instead of throwing gasoline on it to make it bigger you also grabbed some lighter fluid, a bit of oil and a couple of aerosol cans for good measure “.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: England v France
£400 of damage, that's some typhoon Mark.
