“The club have said we’ll aspire to get the best into the room. People like him [Borthwick] would be that.” And Leicester’s chief executive Simon Cohen said: “He [Borthwick] is an outstanding young coach and I think he would bring a huge amount to our coaching team.”
Soooo what do people make of that.
First time the people at the have talked about Borthwick to the press I think.
To me it sounded like they're either not allowed to say he is coming (agreement with RFU perhaps) or they are not yet sure so not confirming it and making themselves look silly if it falls through.
Hopefully the fact that they are now only somewhat avoiding the question rather than completely ignoring it means it is becoming more likely.
Sounds hopeful doesn't it? Also the same article claims there are 2 interested parties in buying the club. I wonder where/how this 'information' is obtained?
I just hope that if and when Borthwick does arrive it isn't too late to avoid relegation!

Guess that's good for us.
Most likely a case of him helping Proudfoot transition into the team as Forwards coach.
Hoping it might presage a transitional period for Borthwick into Oval Park and that we don't have to wait until mid-March.
Up to Eddie, I guess.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

It’s not written well at all is it. I took it mean that the new guy is arriving in November and given that the summer tour will be to Japan and a large number of World Cup players will be rested they may take some temporary coaches, it could mean after the 6 nations
Confirmed by England Rugby on twitter Borthwick will not leave the RFU until November !!!! Means he will not get even get a preseason it's becoming a farce.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
I think the end of England's season would be either after the 6N or after the summer tour of Japan. If you look on their website the fixtures are split into the same seasons as the club game, i.e. 2019/20 which ends after the Japan tour.
Borthwick's (sort of) replacement is joining "ahead of the Quilter Autumn internationals" so that implies Borthwick will leave in the summer at the latest.
I suspect that because of the Saracens situation, it became easier for Tigers and RFU to agree a summer date with Tigers no longer so desperate for him to come sooner.
