I was desperately hoping we’d see him in Tigers’ colours again. We can only wish him a comfortable and healthy retirement away from the pitch.

Today is a very sad day for Tigers and Dave Denton. On 6th October last year at Twickenham we supported Saints in their benefit game for Rob Horne whose playing career was finished in the opening seconds of the previous Tigers v Saints game at Welford Road. At Twickenham we lost Jonny May in the first half and then in an innocuous tackle down went Dave Denton in the 39th minute and off for the HIA.
We really missed his renown play last season and all wished him a carefully managed recovery, in fact he told me after the Bath game that Tigers were providing the top London specialists and that he was hopeful of a return.
His future life and that of his family must come first and whilst he only played a few times in a Tigers shirt he excelled.
Best wishes for the future and thankyou Dave.
I wonder if Tigers will do "something special!" for the Gallagher Tigers v Saints game on the weekend of 16th May to honour his playing career?

Here is an account of his life and future career development in Edinburgh with his family.
~ Best wishes # Once a Tiger always a Tiger!

A real real shame, had great potential for the club.

i wonder who will come in to replace him, know the club had someone lined up in case he wasn't ready and fit for the coming season

To be fair the back row is quite well resourced with Boledau in on loan.

Good luck in the future David, you weren't a Tiger long but you made a great impression.
Yes, he played so well for Tigers. What a shame he had to give it up.

I sincerely hope that Jordan Taufua recovers from his recent HIA injuries!
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
