Any danger of us signing an injury replacement for Denton. Looking very thin in the backrow department unless we’re hoping Lewis steps up to cover blindside. Even then it only leaves us with five backrowers heading into the season.

Kalamafoni is with Tonga with the World Cup. Taufua isn’t due to link up the squad until after the Mitre Cup probably in November.

Maybe young Emeka Ilione might be given a run out off the bench?

Mea culpa - didn't appreciate you were talking pre-World Cup - tears in my eyes watching the cricket!

Where’d you see that? Would be interesting to know who the 35 players are who’ve gone.

There's Lewis and then the three development backrowers Taylor Gough, Thom Smith and Henri Lavin from last season. Sam Eveleigh is now promoted to the development squad as well. So might be a few young talents before him in the pecking order. Ilione isn't 18 until March.

He certainly looks like the future Tigers number 6. Might be two or three years away though. Might see him make his debut in the PRC next season.
