Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
A snippet from the Rugby Paper of 9 August. Bath apparently on the lookout for a fly half and Neil Fissler lists Handre Pollard as their first choice followed by Johan Goosen should their initial move for Pollard fail.
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Sale to announce a signing at 12 pm on Wednesday... my money is on Eastmond (thank god I’m not a betting man).

Bateman would make more sense that Eastmond. They didn't really need another centre when they signed Manu he was really just a luxury signing they hope can take them to the next level. Eastmond would be almost pointless filler what with both James brothers, Manu, Van Rensburg and Sam Hill all options at centre. Apart from Luke James the other four would expect to be in the running for a starting shirt every week.
At a guess I'd say they will announce another SA forward.

I think it might be announcing Cobus Wiese, Sale had only confirmed the deal had been more or less signed but they were waiting on the visa offices in South Africa to open so that the former U20 Junior Bok could prove he could speak English for his visa.

Apparently there are talks for Owen Farrell and Maro Itoje to be loaned out to the Chiefs for the 2021 Super Rugby season in order to get some high-level game time before the Lions tour.

I'd be fascinated to see how both those players did in Super Rugby.
Retallick is due back at Chiefs next season. Arguably the two best locks in the world partnering one another would be brilliant. Tyler Ardron wouldn't be a bad bench option either.
