Don't know he hasn't played Union in a couple of years. Taute is a very clever player he I think worries about his lack of pace and tries too hard to compensate. Interesting that Liebenburg in his interview talked about how Taute and Ford were working hard on defence. Taute is under contract for this season so it's not like we could trade him for Burrell we'd be committing more cap on a backup 12.

But we don't know that he is still up to speed with playing Union, we don't want any passengers, he's a risk that might pay off, or it might not. Taute is a known quantity with obvious skills in the Union game.

According to 'The Rugby Paper' (Fissler) Bath are turning their attention to Damian Willemse (Stormers) in their search for a Fly Half. Seemingly endless speculation must be doing wonders for Rhys Priestland's peace of mind.....
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

That's what I was thinking. In terms of being out of union he's been out for the equivalent of rehabbing a nasty ACL injury. I think Burrell could be a good signing for Falcons. It's their second row and props that need reinforcing most though. The back row is pretty strong, hooker depth is good. Without improvement in the tight 5 their backs wont see the ball though.

As for Taute, I have been disappointed since the restart but honestly think his performances will improve when he plays more at 12 - I know I'm a broken record repeating this stuff. He's much better suited to inside centre since the knee injury robbed his pace. Hopefully Moroni (absolute quality at 13) arriving and Porter performing well will allow him to play 12 more.

I should think he knows that Bath will sign some competition for him at some point and he has until then to show that whomever comes in should be the back up option.

Burrell for Taute would've been more squad churn for no reason.

No chance that Watson would go in my opinion. Even with the 25% cut in England match fees he's still getting £18.75k per cap when he's fit given that he's so good that if fit he will start. Then Craig has deep pockets and he's integral to the Bath backline.

Manu might be a different story after the Lions tour, will depend whether he thinks his body can reach another RWC or not.

Zebo coming to the Premiership would be fun. I've always rated him really highly.

Again if ruck says it, it most likely isn't true.
