Why do people keep acting like the ruck has a single in with any player/club/agent.
They haven't gotten a single rumour right.

Rugbypass suggesting Gloucester have bided for Virimi Vakatawa that would make him their marquee player.
Which would be the most stupid marquee signing I think that could happen.

His contract with Racing apparently expires next summer, and Glos could be joined by Bath and Northampton to sign him.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:09 am Rugbypass suggesting Gloucester have bided for Virimi Vakatawa that would make him their marquee player.

However, if Manu Tuilagi leaves Sale at the end of the season, maybe for France, then they could also be in the race for a replacement for Tuilagi.
Semper in excretia
Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
The rumours are that Sale could only fit Manu in the cap because he signed a much reduced contract. So I'm not sure how Sale could get Vakatawa into that wage.Robespierre wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:23 amHis contract with Racing apparently expires next summer, and Glos could be joined by Bath and Northampton to sign him.RagingBull wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:09 am Rugbypass suggesting Gloucester have bided for Virimi Vakatawa that would make him their marquee player.

Feels a lot like the old Sarries discussions. When they re-signed all their senior centres a few years back the chat from Sarries fans was that Marcelo Bosch had taken a big wage cut due to just being a squad player in his later years. When Daly signed 'to replace Bosch' it apparently made sense as they were both international outside backs who would be on similar wages and Bosch had never taken a pay cut...
It's the old it doesn't work both ways discussion. With Faf and Lood almost certainly marquees the way Sale have afforded Manu is by him accepting much smaller contract to stay in England contention. If Manu is on half of what Tigers paid him then Vakatawa ain't fitting into the cap space he vacates!

Think Sale will be spending money on an injury dispensation to cover Lood

Probably - they certainly don't seem to lack funding these days. Although, Wiese has recently joined them, so he could go alongside du Preez and their other locks.

Reported on Twitter that Geoff Parling, currently with the Rebels, is joint the Wallabies’ coaching set up.

I quite liked Burrell as a player, he somehow didn't seem to just hit his best somehow, maybe Deano can get the best out of him.

Makes a lot of sense for Falcons, exactly the sort of player they need if they are to have a chance of survival - probably didn't break the bank either.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 10:38 am Luther Burrell signs for 2 seasons with Newcastle Falcons.

If Tigers hadn't signed Moroni, I'd say he would be a decent 1 or 2 season solution for us.

I think Burrell is exactly the sort of player we need in the centre and I was hoping we might sign him! I’m
Sure he will do well at Newcastle

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
At 32 he's a bit past his best for us to be interested. He wasn't that quick in his peak so he's now definitely a smash it up 12 which we don't need when we have Matt Scott with Taute or Porter as back up. More cover for Moroni at 13 would be what we'd need if we were after another centre which is assume we're not for next season.
Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
I think he’s a significantly better player than Taute.
