Brink said in his interview he was fit in a month, now whether that meant match fit, or fit to resume proper training I don’t know.

I think people need to take a reality check with Reffell, everyone fit he doesn’t play, may not even make the bench because he covers one position.
Hardly does your captaincy any good to be made captain, then to spend as much time in the dug out as on the pitch.
Let him secure his starting place first then talk about captaincy.

These Sarries re-signings must be taking some huge cuts!

Guys like Farrell and Itoje can afford to take cuts because their non-playing earning potential is so high compared to most players.

That, and Sarries also offloaded quite a few players. Williams alone must have been on a big wedge.

Yeah but that wedge was already way too big collectively and now needs to be less next season. Let’s face it - they have to go WAY further than other clubs to get under the cap.

Maybe a £3 million contract for just this season followed by new 2 years contract of 50k after.

Don't Championship clubs have to show they are eligible for promotion by a submitting a range of details one of which is that their spending for the season doesn't exceed the Premiership salary cap limit?

Perhaps Farrell's motives are welfare based too, play the rest of the Prem, have an armchair ride (Pro14-esq) in the Championship, play for England and be selected for the Lions well-rested.

Anyway, looking forward to watching him develop further over the next year.
Just turned 21, hadn't realised that sorry. He's also made more senior appearances that Warburton had when 21 though.

Warburton's rise from pretty Tommy's age at current was ridiculous though to be fair. Made his Wales debut with something like 4 Pro 14 appearances and 2 years later he was captaining Wales at the RWC having made about 20 more test appearances. An incredible player.

Agreed that I'm excited to see him keep developing.

Warburton wasn't the most favoured Welsh back row player coming through.
Others (Dan Franks) who didn't make it to his level were talked up more at open side.
There were man changes in Warburton and he rocketed to another competitive level.
I've seen it in other young blokes discarded too early which is why the age grade system shouldn't dominate.
