Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
If any of our players were going to Exeter I would have expected it to be Manu. He has a young child and leaving family support to go as far as Japan could be painful for them. Taufua would be closer to home in Japan also.
I'm not cynical just experienced

From BBC Sport - "Interestingly, we have another name who we will be announcing in a week or two's time whose name will have everyone licking their lips," Baxter told the club website.
In other news, Gaston Cortes, late of this parish, off to MLR with Toronto.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

In the interview Baxter gave on the Chiefs twitter page he explicitly says Cordero was the player to get people licking their lips.
Something along the lines of, "Rob you were a bit mischevious yesterday mentioning a player who would get fans licking their lips, can you comment further?" Baxter responds, "yes he's a young man by the name of Cordero".

Telegraph reporting Manu to Sale is a done deal.
Makes sense I think given their squad profile; I think they were possibly always the most likely to gave both room in the cap AND the ability to have him as a marquee at some point.

It would be a shame to see Manu play for another Premiership team, but I suppose that's life. I wish him well, but it would really hurt to see him win anything with Sale!
Not sure how I would feel if I was a Sale player who had just taken a pay cut and then they announce they have enough cash to sign Tuilagi. Perhaps he has accepted a cut price one year deal so he can still go make mega bucks at the end of next season, whereas Tigers wanted him to extend.

I suspect Sale were able to offer a marquee slot at some point beyond this season. Maybe part of the problem is Tigers already have them filled for the next couple of seasons?Tiglon wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 2:27 pm It would be a shame to see Manu play for another Premiership team, but I suppose that's life. Marquee players can't be signed from another Prem club so Manu will be falling under the noose if he has signed for Sale.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 2:33 pmI suspect Sale were able to offer a marquee slot at some point beyond this season.
