All have their contracts terminated by lions due to Covid-19

Suspect a few other clubs will have to do this.

Green would be a good one to sign.
Heard Harlequins were trying to sign Green.

Didn’t McGinity say SA was a good place to be sourcing players.
There may be more franchises cutting players soon.

I think they've agreed to cancel their contracts as opposed to be cut. SA rugby allowed a period of time for players to decide whether they wanted to continue under their current contract or look elsewhere. It was a nice way of offloading players to ease the financial stress on the clubs. I think the Lions are just the first to announce who's opted to go.

I'd hope McGinty was using his contacts down their to get some deals for us. So far his signings have been good.

I hope the club are leaving some space in the cap (If we can afford) too try and pinch some players.
For example say a Dane Haylett-Petty.

Looking at the list of leavers some of which would have been high earners compared with the incomings to date you would hope that we have some decent players to be announced and a bit of spare cap in case of good players becoming available due to cost cutting at other clubs :smt003

He was mentioned in the same article that I saw about Hooper, would be an excellent signing international class all across the back 3

The three-week 'window' the players had to explore overseas options closed yesterday. Hence the news of Mapimpi staying put.

Only for those to get early release from contracts.
Teams can still get releases though as per usual.

Has anyone heard which Premiership club Carl Fearns is likely to join, now that he's left Lyon?

Northampton was mentioned in various outlets. Rugby pod and a few online places as well.
