Saw that, good move for both, despite all his fantastic physical attributes, can’t believe how much he resembles Deano, he is naive in certain aspects of the game and he is going to struggle to get into the first choice England back row for a while.
Imagine he’s nailed on for the summer tour to Japan though

Matavesi to bath, likely as cover for the rest of the season due to injuries?

Could that be a Salary Cap saving?

Possibly, seems strange that he was reported as wanting to concentrate more on his medical career but is making another rugby move

Over the hill, over weight, over paid, over the cap? ~ now over there in the Cape! :smt015
At least he is not becoming another on BT.

Given how ineffectual he's been for Bath they won't miss him. Matavesi isn't much of an improvement mind.

Could be, but it would be strange to immediately sign a replacement if that was the case, albeit a probably cheaper one.

Maybe he just wanted to play regular rugby and Bath decided they didn't need him.

None of us made that sort of comment when it was announced Harrison would leave mid-season, so it's a bit biased to throw the accusation at other clubs every time a player moves on.

That's not a fair comparison, we knew Sam was leaving after Christmas right from the start of the season.

So it couldn't possibly be a salary cap saving?

Sam was always considering a move down under at the end of last season so hence only signed a short term contract.

Could be Bath trying to free up funds for a Sarries player pick up.
Most likely had to pay Roberts some money as a release.

Also might be a case of them interested in matavesi and just want to use this time as a trial.

Players going mid season hasn't meant cap dodging before so not sure why it would be now.
