England Treviso training camp

This is a hot weather training camp designed to mimic Japanese conditions. I take it Genge has beaten Moon to the last LH spot then?

Deserves the spot over Joseph, who’s only been picked on reputation.

It's strange to see that Ben T'eo is still without a club. Eddie Jones obviously rates him.

Te’o will go to Queensland, he just won’t announce it yet because of England’s selection policy.

No Cips, no Goode, two of the most versatile and talented players who are England qualified.

Rugby by brute force and numbers then?

Bad news for Brad Shields home with foot injury, but I think most would say good news for England with Dombrandt replacing him, far better player IMO!!

Successive coaches have consistently not picked Cipriani, and Goode has never performed particularly well when he has been selected for England. I think our first choice backline is exceptional at the moment and can’t see either fitting into it.

Young’s, Farrell, Tuilagi, Slade, Nowell, May and Daly with Spencer, Ford and Watson on the Bench is pretty electric. I would hardly say there’s no creativity or guile there.

In Goode’s last England performance he didn’t act as if he wanted to be there.

Maybe he didn't like the script? TTTE wasn't allowed to play his natural game at WR - hence his departure. Goode , IMO having seen the guy play through his Cambridge days is worthy of a place - likewise Ben Spencer. I would play Ben Spencer over Ben Youngs too!!

Spencer is unlucky to not be ahead of Heinz, a player who himself was only selected at one Barbarians camp under Jones until Robson got injured, but perhaps the Head coach is seeking a mature option along with the livewire Spencer.

The ENG vs WAL 11th Aug match showed Englands physical training is really coming together. They were more lively for sure than the Welsh who rightly pride themselves on being one of the fittest teams around. Still nearly six weeks to go but promising signs. I suspect Jones will swap the team quite a bit for Cardiff without fully loading his preferred 15 starters. Then repeat same mixup concept for IRE and ITA.
