World Cup Squads

Post by Mark62 »

Afternoon all, just read it’s 75 days till the start of the World Cup in Japan.
Thought it might be good idea to discuss all things squad related until we get to the big kick off.

Will start things off with who I would pick in England’s 31, don’t expect Eddie to agree with me though.

Props - Vunipola, Genge, Moon, Sinclair, Williams, Cole.
Hookers - George, Cowan Dickie, Singleton
2nd row - Itoje, Launchbury, Kruis ,Lawes.
Back row - Vunipola, Curry, Wilson, Shields, Underhill

Scrum half’s - Young’s, Spencer ,
Fly Halves - Ford, Cipriani
Centres- Farrell, Joseph, Tuilagi, Slade,
Back 3- May, Daley, Nowell, Watson, Cokanasiga

Surprised that Ludlam and Shields ahead of Dombrant, who I thought was head and shoulders over those pair!

Having one 8 is dangerous, especially since Vunipola has a long list of injuries, I guess Eddie Jones is expecting Wilson to cover but I would still prefer someone like Morgan.
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

He persevered with Hughes when Billy was last injured so he doesn't really have any tried and tested options to call upon, it does just seem all plans are based on Billy staying fit. A bit like the old midfield plans of previous coaches of waiting for Manu to come back.
