2019 World U20s

Post by JP14 »

Team named with Heyes selected to start, interesting to see that WR are trialling having 13 replacements instead of 8, what are people’s thoughts on this... and before the likes of 46 has a heart attack, it’s a trial.

Ones from last year, only Heyes is young enough, and I’d imagine the U18s are deemed not ready so yup just the one!

He’s still young enough? Not played a lot this year has he, maybe England don’t like his attitude?

if you look at the replacement trial you will see that you can still only use 8 of them. it just allows a like for like replacement ie if you have already used 7 including your back row replacement and another back rower is needed you can use a specialist back row rather than having to bring on say a fly half if he was the only replacement left on a "normal" bench.

What a joke Hinckley’s yellow card, initial contact to the shoulder and the backfield player was crouching too! It’s a penalty, nothing more.

Agreed on that. I'm completely on board with being stricter about high tackles but this was very harsh. Initial contact was with the shoulder, and the arm barely made contact with the head afterwards - and the defender literally had a knee on the floor.

Thought Vunipola's was tough as well as the player was falling, but fair.
Never believe generalisations

The replacement hookers red was the daftest thing I’ve seen on a rugby pitch since Back shoved Lander.

Yellows imho Hinckley was justified and could have been a red with some refs, Vunipola was harsh. No matter you can’t play 35 minutes against the 6 nations champions with 14 men on the pitch.

Those posters that like to complain about Ben White, should thank their lucky stars we haven’t got the 9 from last night with his box kicking, and then placing the ball in his own in goal area behind a ruck allowing the Irish to score

U20s old boys sons and independent school side?
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

To be fair I thought both Slightholme and De Granville did ok.

That was pressure and expectation from hype can do to people, thankfully he is young and can learn from this.
