Julian White?

Post by 1989Tiger »

I have just seen a photo of Simon Cohen, Dusty Hare, Boris Stankovich and Julian White together visiting a restaurant.

3 members of the club and White. I wonder if they are talking about a role for Julian?

Doesn't make much sense to me, which makes it almost certain that he'll be appointed. What is he going to bring?

The fight starter during training?

Bring some of that feistiness back into the Tigers.

You’ve got 2 farmers there maybe they were discussing the price of cows.

If it was to do with the club I would imagine Dustys presence indicates maybe a scouting role.

Both fair points! I can see the job description evolving as we speak.

Dusty was a sheep man I believe 😇. Fair point though, what Dusty knows about what makes a forward tick can be written on the head of a pin I'd think!

Ged and Dusty are the scouts - Ged will be freed up from the contractual side which he never enjoyed - and, of course, each will have a number of contacts. These would include people like Les and Marcos - maybe Julian is one of those or maybe he just came for a free (large) meal!
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Yeah, I saw the same photo and that's the impression I got, not a laptop in sight. Can't imagine what the table bill was like for those four hefty gents, Stanko still looks like he could bench press the entire Cat stand.

I can't understand why we have no scouts in the southern hemisphere. :smt017 :smt017

That would be Ayerza and Cusworth given that they live in Argentina... 😂

We do have "scouts".
A lot of them.
They just are not "Official scouts" as in they have jobs in the countries but are closely linked to Tigers they help recommend players.

The club can't afford to pay too many people as full time scouts.

A good example of this is Mike Penistone when he was at Eastern Suburbs and Waratahs and spotting Slater and connecting us with him.

Thank you gentlemen, I didn't realise that. :smt023
