Good player but I wouldn't say blindside is where we need extra depth. Treviranus is a brutal defender and strong in contact but don't think he's what the squad needs at this stage of his career.

We either need a good Prem level player at 7 or a development option at 8 for me. Ed Milne would be great player to bring back into the setup in the latter position.

6 and 8 are well covered with Taufua, Liebenberg, Kalamafoni and Denton. If Denton retires that's a different story but in that situation you'd want someone with more longevity left that Treviranus.

David Pocock likely to be heading overseas after the World Cup. Would be a nice bit of cover for 7 and help develop Reffell!

Looking like bank holiday Monday is a reasonable bet.

He's probably going to be an impact sub and if he's not likely to recalled by SA. Unless we're going for a very different looking midfield with Ford/Manu/Mapoe. Would make the signings of Taute, Reid and EWV a bit much.

I just think somewhere else will offer him more money and a starting spot in his preferred 13 shirt. Similar with Jjanties can't see him coming here to sit on the bench behind Ford on squad player money. They'll be teams in Japan and France who'll hand him the 10 shirt and better money.
Spot on! Both way too good to be backups! Unless we go Ford/Jantjes/Manu with Mapoe on wing but I don't fancy that.
I don’t get it. All season, people have been saying we don’t have good enough back up players to come in when our first choice players are on international duty or injured and now we have people saying these potential signings are too good to be back up players!

Yes, but are they the same people? Opinions naturally vary.

Geordan Murphy says there will be more additions to the Leicester Tigers squad before the start of the next Gallagher Premiership campaign.

And yet he gives perfectly good reasons why they haven’t been announced yet.

Do you want the club to go against a players wishes and announce before they are comfortable with it.

Great start to a relationship that would be

Sounds like they can't be announced until their season is over but yet Lavinini and Tafua could? :smt017 Have we anyone coming from the GP or PRO14 then?

Super Rugby is still ongoing and then the provincial competitions - so could be anywhere. It depends on what's been agreed with the individual and their club, I'd imagine.

Some countries might take a negative view to the player moving away and wanting to be eligible for international duty. If you're a player on the verge of the first team you might not want it known your are heading abroad.

Does anybody know what Dillyn Leyds is doing now, I thought he was supposed to be going to Wasps but I think they've announced all their signings and he wasn't included, he could be great pickup for us as a backup 10 and general utility back if his Wasps move has fallen through
