Nah, the source will be someone else, RIL (bottom feeder) will just pass it off as their knowledge, re-packaged stories from elsewhere.strawclearer wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 9:49 pm Lionel Mapoe and Elton Jantjies being rumoured on Twitter - but RIL is the (unreliable) source I think!
I'm content to wait and see who, if anyone, Tigers announce in their own time.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

I've heard we are potentially signing more South Africans than just Leibenberg and Viljoen but I'm not 100% on who

Securing an early release Blommetjies to join our (potentially) growing South African contingent. Mapoe is an odd one, if we’ve already got Reid, Taute, Tuilagi, Eastmond and Viljoen? Do we need a 6th senior centre?
Likewise, Jantjes, that’d be a big shift in salary outlay as a replacement for Joe Ford?

I thought Eastmond was leaving?FrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 7:41 am Securing an early release Blommetjies to join our (potentially) growing South African contingent. Mapoe is an odd one, if we’ve already got Reid, Taute, Tuilagi, Eastmond and Viljoen? Do we need a 6th senior centre?

Hadn’t noticed him in the list of confirmed leavers?

It will be worth the money to have a player of that quality to play at 10 when Ford is away.FrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 7:41 am Securing an early release Blommetjies to join our (potentially) growing South African contingent. I agree with that, although arguably in Reid we already have someone who can step in and play well at this level.1989Tiger wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 8:41 amIt will be worth the money to have a player of that quality to play at 10 when Ford is away.FrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 7:41 am Securing an early release Blommetjies to join our (potentially) growing South African contingent. We don't have as many development/academy grads at centre and FH (compared to, eg, wing or backrow) so I think if we just sign Viljoen we are a body short at either 10 or 12 (freeing up Reid and Hardwick to play where they're most needed).
Having said that, if we sign Viljoen, Janties AND Mapoe I'd be really surprised. Although our 10-13 depth would be insane compared to this year.
Never believe generalisations

Must be a reason why the tweet linking us to Jantjies and Mapoe is deleted.
