So what I see here is just more and more SH journeymen signings. I haven't got a clue who most of them are. Think it's probably time to call it a day with Tigers, I've no idea what they represent anymore.

Liebenberg is a regular for the Bulls. Former Baby Bok captain. Seems like a good all-rounder with leadership qualities, who perhaps is a bit shy of full international level, but is still pretty young. Should be a pretty canny acquisition.
Viljoen is a rangey, utility back who has struggled to nail down a regular place at the Stormers. Still young though, and a move abroad seems logical at this stage of his career. Could turn out to be an under the radar hit with gametime, but a little bit of a gamble. Should be at the very least on par with our current reserve 3/4s.

I'm concerned at the number 11 position during the W.C. It appears very weak to me.

The bits of Viljoen I’ve seen, albeit mainly from youtube etc, he seems like a specialist 13, although slated as able to play wing/fullback. Rangy kind of centre rather than outright pacy, fairly physical, but with an ability to get past the defender and find his support with offloads, and he runs decent support lines of others too. Step up on Owen as a backup centre. Not a regular starter, so probably a relative project given his age.
Liebenberg looks like a less heralded Du Preez twin. Big physical unit, who carries hard going forward, and also gets over the ball well defensively. Captain at U20 level and also club level.
Add Blommetjies, a senior Openside, and a big PI winger, job done on the recruitment side. Maybe Denton replacement too depending how that goes. Whether we hold back on to see if anyone stands out at RWC?
Decent mix of experience, and potential, with a good clear pathway for our academy guys. To win the title two years running, there’s clearly talent there.

That's sounds like a plan to meDarc Tiger wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 8:24 pmNot sure we could keep him and Lavanini from decking each other every week at training!

This is a good summary! Worth saying that Viljoen is behind de Allende and JJ Engelbrecht at Stormers, so no slouches. Think Liebenberg will be one of the best bits of business we've done in a while, reminds me a bit of Jack Conan.
Never believe generalisations
