I think the key to remember with all this is that none of us know anything about anything.

To be fair, where does it say new people will be brought in? It just mentions a restructure. That could be Murphy as DOR and Blake as Head Coach or current staff just taking on different roles for example.
Blake is leaving at the end of the season as advised many times on this board!
To me he has wallowed through the season with no input to a better defence so let him go asap. :smt067 :smt067

Amen to that. :smt023

Did well at Leinster and with the Waratahs but it was a long time ago now and he’s been not successful at international level in over four years... importantly not an ex-Tiger!

Cheika the guy who
Transformed Leinster
Won the Super rugby title
Took Aus to the Ruby world cup final.

What a laughing stock.

Aus current problems lie very much within the whole rugby system not just at the international level.

All coaches start to blame other factors after a while.

Saying that people on here would complain about signing Steve Hansen.

or complain about signing coaches without experience then call for the likes of Edwards and O'Gara to be Head Coaches despite no previous head coach experience. (Which I would be fine with either).

Why would Edwards even think about us?! France are a basket case at present but looking from the outside it finally seems that they are about to sort things out and if they start playing like their clubs are a serious threat to everyone plus they are hosting RWC2023.
As our defence is poor, he may feel he is the man to help improve it.

Not everyone looks at a situation and gives up. Some people, usually successful people, spot a weakness and find a way to turn it around.

Whilst I don’t believe the rumours, Cheika would be a great head coach. Massively experienced, both at club and international level. Not his fault that Australian rugby from club to senior level seems a toxic environment at the minute.

Would also want to see Rowntree on board in some capacity.

The Welsh Rugby Union and Shaun Edwards have confirmed he will depart when business in Japan later this year is concluded.

So, that's step one........ :smt003
If France weren't interested I'd say we have a chance, if they are serious they are going to be offering money we simply couldn't match
It depends if he is money driven or success driven. If he is driven by money he will go to France. If he is driven by success, he has a choice to make as to whose fortunes he could help turn around more. That could be us. That could be France.

Certainly wouldn't blame the dude for taking a big payday to go tour the south of France watching Top 14 games, nobody can say he hasn't earned it.
