Inspiring stuff, maybe possibly thinking about changing some things around. Akin to emptying the ashtrays on the Titanic IMHO but there you go.

A bit like Theresa May. Sorry Geordan, your time is up. Or should be.

I disagree. We don't need another Head Coach sacked.

Geordan will be moved into a DoR role, with an experienced Head Coach coming in.

I really hope we get rid of Bakewell and Blake, I genuinely see absolutely no benefit in what they bring to the squad.

Really should add thats just what I expect to happen. If Bakewell and Blake aren't replaced, and the only change is Mike Ford in a full time capacity I will genuinely consider handing my season ticket back. The club haven't taken coaching appointments seriously (IMO) since we brought in Meyer and O'Connor. Now, we really need to.

For the sake of stability alone, Murphy to move to DoR with experienced coaches below him able to deliver a team capable of executing his vision. That will be an improvement.
Comments from the likes of Taufua, Taute and Reid upon signing, praise the project Murphy has sold them, so maybe he does have a clear idea of what he wants to achieve, but lacks the coaching ability to put it into practice.

A new forwards coach, armed with legitimate second rows and 6’s, do away with the hybrids. They lack the bulk/grunt of legitimate second rows, and also the mobility of specialist back row. Let’s get back to physically dominating teams.

A new skills/attack coach, armed with backs who can create/exploit gaps. We miss a secondary hard carrier out in the backs. Tuilagi is too easily double marked. Back when more successful, we had Rabeni and Alessana, followed by Alessana and Manu, then Goneva and Manu, always two threats to watch. Add in another Pacific Islander outside back. Let’s get back to having multiple attacking threats that teams can’t plan for.

A new defence coach, blessed with a mobile back row and midfield capable of leading/executing his system. Suffocate teams, then utilise our sharper looking backline to punish teams.

Geordan to DoR.
Head coach would be either Shaun Edwards or Graham Rowntree; both available after RWC.
If Shedwards:

Head Coach/Defense: SE
Forwards/Line Out: Paul O'Connell
Scrum: Boris Stankovich
Backs/Attack: Mike Catt
Breakdown/Assistant Coach: Brett Deacon
Assistant Coach: Anthony Allen

If Wiggie:

Head Coach/Forwards: GR
Assistant Coach/Line Out: Louis Deacon
Scrum: Boris
Defense/Breakdown Joe Worsley
Backs/Attack: Mike Catt
Assistant Coach: Anthony Allen

Both structures in need of a head of analysis and a new, experienced Head of Conditioning.

Definitely agree regarding Manu, our gameplan fell apart on Saturday, I love Matt Smith to pieces and he did give it a proper go but our attack relies solely on Many fixating defenders, but when he is injured or away with England there is no longer a ballcarrier in our backline and defences can just drift. The signifn of Taute will improve this but I reckon we should really inquire the services of one Mr Julian Savea who is back in the Toulon team but surely you don’t want to be playing there en ce moment.

So you're not happy with how things are currently but you're happy to wait until after the World Cup in December (half way through the season) to being new people in?

If we are going to bring people in, we need everyone in place ready for pre season.

There are a lot of good, young coaches around that could fill assistant coach roles. The difficulty is getting the experience in to lead them.

Joe Worsley - Very well considered defence and breakdown coach currently with Bordeaux.

Paul O'Connell - Leaving Stade Francais at the end of the season but widely considered one of the best rugby brains of his generation.

Geoff Parling - Coaching at the Rebels in Super Rugby. Especially considering the abysmal lineout in recent years I'd be delighted for Parling to return.

That's before considering the Deacon brothers. Louis seems settled at Coventry but has a growing reputation and Brett has had a tough time at Tigers amongst the coaching chaos but he's well considered. I was really happy that Brett was coaching at the Highlanders as it showed that the Mauger bridges aren't completely burnt and Brett is getting good experience.

Wig would be a good appointment. He's currently with Georgia through the end of the RWC though so wouldn't get a preseason.

Latest rumour around Edwards is that he's been offered a 4-year contract with France after being upset to only get a 2-year offer from the WRU.

If it means getting the best coaches, then yes, the club should wait. Rowntree and Catt would be out of the WC in the group stages anyway, and I'd imagine we could wrangle getting them involved, if only through phone meetings and emails during the pre season. (Heck, it would probably do our lot the world of good if Georgia did a couple of weeks at Oval Park!)

I'd far rather get the right people, and wait for them to start proper until after the world cup, then get a lesser option, just because they are available.

It would be great to bring all the changes in during the break, but it is vital that we get the right people in. Plans must be in place during the close season, with options pencilled in also.

To be fair, where does it say new people will be brought in? It just mentions a restructure. That could be Murphy as DOR and Blake as Head Coach or current staff just taking on different roles for example.
