What went wrong at Debenhams and what it might mean for the Premiership

Post by Not a jock »

The English Premiership sold a stake to CVC recently. Seems they were involved in the deal to take Dibdibs private in 2003, extract short term profit, sell it on and leaving it a potential wreck (as if there isn’t a big enough challenge competing with online vendors). Here’s a link to an old article in the Independent:

Hope they don’t sell off rugby grounds then the clubs have to lease them back.

The grounds are owed by private entities. Not CVC...

Wasn't F1 a success story?

CVC don't have a controlling share so just have a seat at the table when it comes to decision making. Hence, the potential threat is small.
