Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality
I think it was a red under current laws but in the highlights programme there was another example(can’t remember which game) which was much worse as it was a shoulder in a ruck into the back of a guys neck. Zero action on that one which makes the Lwas a bit of a joke

It was Michael Rhodes in the Bath v Sarries game. On the basis of the SK incident consistency (yes I know) dictates that he should have seen red also. Instead the officials didn't even review it. Make of that what you will.mightymouse wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 7:52 am I think it was a red under current laws but in the highlights programme there was another example(can’t remember which game) which was much worse as it was a shoulder in a ruck into the back of a guys neck. I hadn't seen that. Good. Let's see whether the disciplinary panel can be consistent for once.

It was ruled a 3 game ban, only lazy journos and the ill informed called it a 3 week ban.GETHIN EXILE wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 5:09 pmwhy is it that the outcome of the hearing is declared as being a 3 week ban
Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality
This really highlights the inconsistency in refereeing. Unfortunately, the standards do not seem to be improving. There are very few premiership, or international, referees, whom I respect. This is such a fundamental aspect of the game that the powers-that-be would be well advised to concentrate on improving it, rather than tinker with competition formats.

Therein lies the problem. Rugby is a game which has taught people to respect the ref.Baz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 12:31 pm This really highlights the inconsistency in refereeing. Sometimes I think the referee should be yellow or red carded!

Rhodes given three week ban, free to play again 2nd April.
Sarries must have more games in the same time frame as us?
Disciplinary panel judge the two offences the same?

Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality
Agreed but the adjudicators do not listen, after his match last Friday @ Sale we see Matthew Carley as the International Referee on Saturday Italy v France with Owens & Brace (Ire) + TMO Hughes. Perhaps it will be an Italian win!voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 2:57 pmPermanently in the case of Craig Maxwell Keyes.Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 2:51 pm Sometimes I think the referee should be yellow or red carded!

technically the Premiership cup is a different competition so why should it be counted as a fixture in the calculation of Rhodes ban? All we supporters want is clear and accurate information and a level playing field.

Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality
I'm not going to suggest that the disciplinary process is perfect but to put it clearly and accurately:
Rhodes is banned from playing in his club's next 3 games.
Kalamafoni is banned from playing in his club's next 3 games.

just ban people for a certain number of matches instead of saying weeks anyway
