Toomua at 10 didn't really help v Saracens, even without factoring his poor goal kicking.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he is more focused on the rugby world cup and staying injury free till he starts super rugby, as that is how he will be earning his Aus place.

My take on it was that Toomua worked well off Harrison, being given fast ball and time; off Youngs the ball is variable, as is the time. Ford copes regardless.
I was thinking more defensively in midfield given how they are being pulled apart.
Ford individually has looked pretty good in an attacking sense more recently and with his pace his scrambling defence looks a great effort, but collectively it has been a shambles.
Ford was all over the place on Saturday and a few balls hitting the floor on occasions with him running sideways on others really summed up the lack of cohesion, he is a very skilled player but not as clever heads up without direction and structure as he thinks he is in my opinion.
It's all so ragged and they are clearly hoping to play their way out of trouble which would be alright if they had the likes of Veainu and the rest fit, but they don't, and going back to some basics might be better.
Ford Snr mentioned freeing up the players last week and that's great if you have all of your best players fit and available.

If Falcons are going down, we should try and sign Hammersley.

Can he play wing?. He's not as good as Veainu

I wouldnt say that, hes much more of a running fullback, fast and tricky, Veainu could then revert to wing, although he seems to be very injury prone so having Hammesley would be great and I doubt he would be expensive.

Actually I'd say he may be a better fullback than Veainu, and I think wing is probably Veainu's best position.

Thought Green played well against us and was one of their better forwards. Solid unit with good control in the pack. Nice offload as well.

He always make lots of metres. Always been impressed with him as I was tonight.

Slightly off topic, but there seems to be a lot more noise around the potential retirements of both Denton and Thompstone. Wonder if, if fit, Smithy will be given a year extension...

We are quite thin at centre as it is. So if he is physically up to it then why not.

Does anyone know what the contract situation with Eastmond is? Obviously we’re rumoured to be bringing in 3 centres for next season.
