Come on, we want young massive hungry bull dozing nasty South sea islanders or heavy duty South Africans plus some Georgian front row thrown in for good measure. Not another UK journeyman. Pleassssssssssssssssssssseeeee..

His 12 month contract was not renewed. Agreed at least when he was here he gave his all for the team, much more than Mike Williams this season "easy rider!"speedski wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 12:35 pm Luke Hamilton didn't last long at Edinburgh...I'd have him back...

Luke would be a great asset to next season.

Signing Hamilton back up would sum up all our issues in one move.

yep another jack of all trades but master of none, not a single back rower we have is dominant in any aspectRagingBull wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 1:35 pm Signing Hamilton back up would sum up all our issues in one move.

Perhaps so,but as a unit I think we would've been better off if we could've fielded Denton,Thompson,Kala more often

As a unit them three work really well together, a nice mix of power and workrate around the park. Means the opposition can’t just double up on Kalamafoni.
But we’ve rarely seen them play together. O’Connor has been poor this season and backup players rarely good enough to fill in.

Kalimafoni's stats are a real puzzler- 240 carries, 466 metres gained, clean breaks 4, defenders beaten 7. So less than 2 metres per carry and generally not through any tackles. Offloads 7 as well which is telling of our general lack of creativity. For reference Ben Morgan has made 236 carries and beaten 38 defenders, 10 clean breaks and made 611 metres.

Catch and bosh then repeat until turned over, no puzzle there!CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:34 pm Kalimafoni's stats are a real puzzler- 240 carries, 466 metres gained, clean breaks 4, defenders beaten 7. I suspect its probably more down to the fact Kala is often carrying on his own into 2-3 guys, I suspect even Billy V wouldn't make much more ground if he was used the same way Kala isCitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:34 pm Kalimafoni's stats are a real puzzler- 240 carries, 466 metres gained, clean breaks 4, defenders beaten 7. I really liked the look of Luke Hamilton, and felt gutted when he left. Bringing him back would however imo opinion be a retrograde step. We need 100% loyalty and commitment.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6
Perhaps he doesn't make many metres but neither does Robshaw. Add Kalas tackles in and his workrate is phenomenal,he's a blindside all day for me though. You need players like that in your backrow.

when Genge and Manu were with England Kalamafoni was basically the only crash ball runner we have and often he doesn't have an option to offload as our runners always seem to be on their ownCitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:34 pm Kalimafoni's stats are a real puzzler- 240 carries, 466 metres gained, clean breaks 4, defenders beaten 7. Exactly, teams double up on him as there are hardly any ball carriers in the team. He showed last season against Bath that when given proper support, he can be great, totally outplayed Faletau.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:47 pmwhen Genge and Manu were with England Kalamafoni was basically the only crash ball runner we have and often he doesn't have an option to offload as our runners always seem to be on their ownCitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 3:34 pm Kalimafoni's stats are a real puzzler- 240 carries, 466 metres gained, clean breaks 4, defenders beaten 7.
