I am slightly greedy and after this poor season, I think we deserve more than 3....
There is never any points for 2nd place...

Charlie Clare is first

I'm guessing the other Nottingham player will be next...

I don't really follow the Championship, is Claire any good? Bit of an underwhelming CV since he left us.

Other Nottingham player?
Hasn't Clare been at Bedford this season?
You shouldn't be surprised anyway. You've already asked why would players join us over other clubs so these types of signings should be expected.
On the other hand, you could realise that this is the standard we are going to get for a 4th choice hooker. We are hardly going to be signing Jamie George or Luke Cowan-Dickie to be a backup player are we?!

My counter to that needlessly confrontational argument would be that we shouldn't be signing a 4th choice hooker anyway, why isn't there an academy product at Oval Park who can step up.

You need to research previous posts as I have never said anything of the sort (as highlighted) before making such a presumption!1989Tiger wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:18 amOther Nottingham player?

As a fourth choice hooker, it should be fine, he was brought up through the academy therefore should have the Tiger's ethos, but it's whether that's been lost. It's nice to see that Murphy is trying to recreate or reshape the ethos though.

Cue the underwhelmed/journeyman claxon from many! Good squad player - does this signal the end of TPN with us and/or Jimmy Stevens?
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6
There is one, I would guess Stevens and McMillan are leaving so It'll probably go something like thisCitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:29 amMy counter to that needlessly confrontational argument would be that we shouldn't be signing a 4th choice hooker anyway, why isn't there an academy product at Oval Park who can step up.
18/19: Youngs, TPN, Kerr, Stevens, McMillan
19/20: Youngs, TPN, Kerr, Clare, Mahoney
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6
I thought TPN was off,he have a year left then?

However good a clubs academy is, there is no way every season you can produce a good enough player in every position to step up to the first team.CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:29 amMy counter to that needlessly confrontational argument would be that we shouldn't be signing a 4th choice hooker anyway, why isn't there an academy product at Oval Park who can step up.
That's just an unrealistic expectation.

Mahoney has what it takes but has struggled with fitness this season.
