I do not know for a fact but I do not believe for one second that Hammersley will join Tigers because why the hell would he want to over Sale?

There's some (fairly unsubstantiated) rumours that Sale and Newcastle will agree a feeder style deal for next season. Falcons will loan a couple of their bigger earners that want to stay (seemingly Hammersley and Wilson) to Sale for a season. In return Sale will send a number of their highly rated development squad players to help fill out Falcons squad cheaply and gain experience.WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 1:31 pmAlong with Hammersley to Sale rumour was Wilson to Sale on a years loan, probably preserving his England chances/status.
Guess time will tell if there's anything in those rumours.
No idea whether that'll come to pass but will be interesting to see if true.

Hammersley would be going to Sale permanently not a loan.

Why would we want Hammersley when we have Veainu and Holmes who are both better players ? Best to spend cap on forwards .

Lovobalavu would be a decent pick up.
Although with Taute, Reid and Viljoen most likely no room.

Taufua, Lavanini, Liebenberg, Green, Leatigaga, Coghlan, Clare. There's plenty of forward investment going on as well.
Veainu will be away with the RWC and Holmes is stronger on the wing. He did a fine job at fullback this season but Tigers are a more dangerous side with Holmes on the wing.
A reserve fullback would balance the squad well and allow Worth to spend time in the centres where many feel his best position may be.

I would be surprised if Hammersley would come for a reserve fullback wages

Well, it wont be too long until we know.

He'd be a similar situation at Sale. Solomona, Yarde, Ashton and O'Connor won't be cheap. Ashton has mostly playing fullback for them and played well there.
I can't imagine Sale would offer him much more to be reserve than Tigers could afford. Time will tell though.

Well, we may prefer using Holmes as a wing for a start, and it’s worth remembering Veainu is useful at 14 too.
Hammersley may want to join to be at a bigger club and for any number of personal reasons in his own career development.
