+1 :smt023 That cover tackle he did in the Wasps game last year ranks near the top my best memories at Welford Road.

Many thanks Matt; sorry it had to end this way. That try-saving tackle on Jimmy Gopperth was the greatest I have ever seen!
All the best for the future.

His performance in the play-off semi v Quins was extraordinary. Still on You tube so worth another look.

Good luck Mat!

A very good player in his time with us. Would have had more England caps were it not for injury early in his career. Best wishes for the future and thanks Matt.

Always a name I was happy to see on the team sheet. Top quality player, who may well have been even better with more luck re injuries.
Agreed re that tackle - one of the top 3 defensive pieces of play I've seen at Welford Road since I began watching games in 1989!
Best of luck to him for the future.

Will be sorely missed.

Mat, you may not have started out at Welford Road but you certainly played like a true Tiger once you joined and continued to do so throughout your time here. Thanks for the memories. All the best with whatever you decide to do next.

Fine player but sooner or later one of the many injuries he suffered was going to end his career.

Good luck for the future.
