7 matches to go

Post by Robespierre »

Wasps h
Sale a
Saints h
Exeter h
Newcastle a
Bristol h
Quins a
Bath h
So which matches do Tigers have a chance of winning (or should I say, avoid defeat)?
With current form, I'd say none. However, wearing my optimistic hat, I'd say they'd have a reasonable chance of winning the games against Wasps, Newcastle and Bristol.
Sad, innit?

I’ve been at Welford Road since 1992. In some ways the results don’t matter. But one thing is expected from any man who wears the Tigers shirt. Uncompromising commitment and physicality for the team which had been missing recently. Get that back at the club and the results will sort themselves out.

I am going...
Lose to wasps...lose to sale...beat saints...lose to Exeter...lose to Newcastle...beat Bristol...lose to Quins and finally beat Bath... I edited my predictions as I was clearly being silly!! We ain’t beating wasps on that showing. I was too happy clapper (my favourite place to be) and not realistic enough to see how poor we are and how they will cut us to shreds.

With those fixtures top 6 is still on.
Considering we are playing most of the teams fighting for it.

Falcons can get a maximum 35 points and are on 17 points currently we are 13 points ahead of them. So 3 wins.

Falcons have to play still
Saracens away and Gloucester away, which you would expect them to lose.

So they have realistically 5 games to pick up 3 wins (plus 2 bonus points) and for us to get no points in that timeline. They also play Bristol and Worcester so them losing would help us.

We should be safe from relegation. (should)

We are in no danger of getting relegated, but my God we are looking poor and lacking flair or ideas. That is my concern and think we will take some beatings before May.

Ford back will help the ideas.

Would like to see
9. Simmons
10. Ford
11. May
12. Eastmond
13. Tuilagi
14. Holmes
15. Worth

21. Youngs
22. Hardwick
23. Ashland-Robinson

In a prem game at some stage.

I wouldn't back us to beat anyone at the moment - and with the negative game plan we play quite frankly we deserve to lose .

I’m confident Murph will play Simmons, however I was bewildered as to why he wasn’t played today, perhaps a niggle came up?

Perhaps not entirely fit but had to put him in the squad with Harrison not entirely fit.

Murphy didn't get it right today. Certainly should have started with Hardwick!

It's a big call to drop a youngster into a misfiring team at flyhalf. Having played like he did he should retain the shirt. Meritocracy is important, too many experienced players are getting starts without performing.
