I will say it again (apologies). We need him to make his mind up asap, if we have to search for a replacement. If he takes his time we could be missing out on certain players.

I have said it before, I really like Manu but George Ford would be a far better investment. Fordy has( yes I know it’s a team game) won more matches for us than Manu. Genge too, surely worth more, as would a very good number 8 and lock.! We have really missed TV too, so breaking the bank for Manu, isn’t in my books a decision that makes good playing business.
Money invested in a really good fitness coach should also be a priority as when Tigers were in their pomp it was the fitness that told against most teams. This season only Ford, Holmes, May and Cole have looked fit enough to last beyond 60 minutes. Our second half performances are evidence of this! Oh, and the fact the bench hasn’t been strong enough to make an impact. Good luck Manu whatever, but I think he might just stay.

The Ford love in is a bit ridiculous given the league position.
I see things differently, he's a good player but I don't like the defensive structure, his tackling is admirable but he is an easy target for metres and there's no possible breakdown threat around those conceded metres leading to immediate front foot ball against a defence on its heels.
I'm not even that sure about the attack as having watched for several years now I don't believe a pivot of that type works so well for a forward pack in union, it looks near impossible to stay in effective pods and they often end up all over the place and usually turned over.
Just look at the players he had around him at Bath and still it didn't work out.
It's no coincidence that Leicester have had the two worst seasons in recent history in my opinion.
I also wonder why the two best teams in the land have never been interested!
He isn't worth more than Manu in my opinion, not in this game!

Suggest that you start watching another sport BFG as it would appear that you know nothing about rugby

Could you be a little more specific please as I would welcome a cogent demolition of BFG's points.

The only thing I can see in BFG's post to really argue with is to say that it is no coincidence that Leicester have had the two worst seasons in history since GF returned. To be fair to GF the coaching turmoil has been a disaster, I'm not at all sure that we have sufficient specialist coaches and the general team malaise is palpable. I would suggest this is not all attributable to the Ford factor. I may be wrong.

Apart from that I would like somebody competent and bi-optic to tell me where BFG is wrong.

Thank you.

No one is bigger than the club. Offer is there for him, if he has to think about it then forget it.

Take the money and play in France.

Delaying the decision penalises the club further, set him a deadline, stop giving him all the power here

His contract is up end of season. If he can't make a decision then the club should go sign player/s for next season now.

He is currently focusing on England but Murphy’s confident they will get sorted in the next couple of weeks.

[email protected] said it previously. He either wants to go and Fred is pushing R92 for a bigger wedge.
Or he wants to stay and Fred is pushing Tigers for a bigger wedge.
The delay will mean the pond will be getting smaller. Tell them to go so we can build while the pond is still wet.

Ok h’s dad I will tell you why bfg is talking rubbish. He says in his post that ford did not perform for bath despite the players he had around him. BFG obviously didn’t, watch bath much as he had many outstanding games in particular an away game in Toulouse when the bath backs led by Ford ripped the french team apart.
Ford has been one of if not the stand out player for Tigers this season and unlike some players never shirks a tackle despite being the smallest player on the pitch.
Also asking why the top two sides were not interested in him is pathetic. Ever heard of the salary cap ?
If you can’t get behind one of our best players why not go and support someone else

Agreed, in fairness to the club Manu must be given a date to decide our deal or Racing deal.

Or maybe he really does want to take time to consider the options, given that it's a massive decision for both his young family and his short career.

Tough choice for him. I don't see him being the Wilkinson type who will go there, learn the language and settle in to the lifestyle. However, I also don't think he's one of those rugby players who will have a lucrative career after rugby, so he needs to make every penny while he can.

Could go either way.

Like a lot above I think we should be out hunting other options

We should be looking for what we can get for the same money.

If we find someone good we should go for it as otherwise we will be left recruiting poor options.

If that means he doesn’t get a contract or we make a choice for him then that’s life; if we try and recruit because he is leaving we will pay more for less (ability / choice)

At his best a world class player however he has a history of being injured (although his new build looks good)

In reality if it’s that hard a choice and hadn’t already signed on the dotted line (which I can understand) it is likely he will follow the money
