Manu would join Racing in December.

Which would allow him to play for England in the RWC .

Sounds about right. I think he will do well for the Paris Galacticos

That will throw the cat amongst the pigeons loosing both our marquee players in one go, fingers crossed this doesn't end up like the Castro situation where its too late to get an adequate replacement

I hope we don't keep him beyond the end of the season if that is the case - why would we pay him til Dec and then try and replace him - If he is going to Racing in Dec then they can pay him from the end of the season.
Hehehehehehehehe

He would be without a club till Dec, rather than us pay him.

If that was to happen.

It's just a report of a report. Let's not get all doom and gloom. I very much doubt England would invoke special circumstances as that would start a flood, so I wouldn't imagine he'd want to kill his England career just yet

From L'Equipe-
Quote:Three-quarters English center Manu Tuilagi, who is looking for a club for next season, Monday visited the facilities of Racing 92.

On the L'Equipe website today, but no link to any further details.
Perhaps just part of on going negotiations........

Offer him a better contract renewal deal than the one that is currently on the table.

Not an option, especially as (according to your good self) we’re after a marquee lock, England salary should make up for slight shortfall in his salary.

Shortfall? If only.

You don’t want to be going to the World Cup without a club unless your covering your own rehab and insurance

I think he will stay but I would imagine it will be his last contract with us

Taufua isn’t joining us till November if he gets into the ABs squad. If Manu does similar there is no difference.
Pretty sure they are covered under rfu insurance during test matches training camps etc.

Imagine, regardless of Manu being off or not, we’ll be in the market for another centre? Look short at both 12 / 13 even if Manu was to stay...

Toomua - OUT
Manu - OUT
Owen - OUT
Smith, Tait - RET

Reid - IN
Taute - IN
