Wow our pack could get dismantled here! Good luck though guys, nice to see GM continuance with using it as s developmental competition. Although this is our last runout before Sarries.

Not a lot of development players in that Saints side!
Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
Yes nice to see Saints playing within the spirit of the competition!

Trouble is i will be there, mate's daughter's house warming after, can't imagine we will be feeling very warm! However you never know, we were at Twickenham too, look at that result, not what they were hoping for, for Mr Horne!
Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
Dont know much about Curtis Wilson, other than he's a winger. Anyone seen anything of him?
Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
Has Dom Barrow played for Saints this season? I cant remember seeing him selected previously, hope he doesn't come out and bite us' ouch, Gibson as well!
Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
Saints average age of line-up: 27 of which 4 at a push (could say less) are Saints academy graduates.
Tigers: 23.333r of which 10 are Tigers academy graduates.
Spirit of the comp alive yeah.
Tigers: 23.333r of which 10 are Tigers academy graduates.

What did you expect? Desperate days at Franklins Gardens, and Smurf gives them no chance of bragging rights because our team really is development and returners. Miserable bast**ds.

Looking at the teams and form of the two teams it could be a very long afternoon but it was for England v Australia when youngsters like Johnny Wilkinson got hammered 73-0: then we all know what happened a little while later: 2003 World Cup Winners. These games are important in Murphy’s Grand Scheme of things- I hope!!
I will still be grumpy if we get battered!

Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
Saints selection doesn't bother me.
It is what it is and Leicester should be good enough to cope.
I don't see any Waller, Mercey, Hill, Ford-Robinson, Ribbans, Wood, Ludlam, Eadie, Burrell, Dingwall, Sleightholme, Naiyavarovo, Lawes and Biggar, so game on in my opinion!

Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
There is no pressure on our guys to win from a cometition perspective so they can go out and just play for the pride of the shirt A nice place to be in a way. Not sure if the game means anything to Saints from a competition perspective but it looks like it from their selection. Either that or they are desperate.

Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup
There should always be pressure to perform in my opinion.
I don't get the negativity at all, it's a massive opportunity to perform against a decent Saints side.
I can't think of anything better than going up against an old timer like Franks, and the opportunities are all over the park, Wells v Barrow, Reffell v Gibson, Evans v Brussow, Tuilagi v Harrison etc.
It's a massive opportunity!

Believe that Pisi and Barrow are returning from injury so need game time....no issue with that. Sure Tigers would have dine the same.

I may not have been clear. I meant no pressure from the PRC results perspective. But absolutely pressure from the pride of playing for Tigers and wanting to win. Likewise I think it is a great opportunity to go out and enjoy the experience, hence a nice place to be.BFG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 1:52 pm There should always be pressure to perform in my opinion.

Not feeling negative personally.
Didn't our kids nearly turn over a more experienced Bath team at the Rec a couple of years back in the Anglo Welsh.
Saints will be disjointed and will have the pressure of expectation to contend with. If we get a couple of early blows in it could be interesting. If not... so be it... then you have to look at individual performances, those that stood up in the face of adversity.
