He's coming and he's fit.

Munster have centres coming through Tigers don't, simple as that.
Taute will suit what we want, he lost his pace and isn't a 15 anymore but as a hard carrying tackling centre he will do.

Munster fans still rate him, he just doesn't work as well with their current centres.

To my knowledge he can play both inside and outside roles. Be interesting to see if Murph sees him as a ball playing 12, or battering ram 13

Out of interest Mike Fitzgerald made the Times 'team of the weekend' today after his performance on Saturday !
[/quote]

Also, Kitch made the Guardian's 'team of the weekend' (together with Cole and Ford), and while Morgan was named at 8, there was no sign of the Glaws locks.

Interesting isn't it, to contrast independent commentators praise of our players with the public comments by some of the club's 'fans'.I hope that the players have the good sense not to read forums such as this.

Anyone who watches Tigers every week would be deluded in thinking that the second row department is okay with the likes of Fitzgerald and Kitchener.

Yes they both put in good shifts against Gloucester, but have been poor for most of the last two years.

Surely a lot of this could be put down to not possessing any direction with the unsettled coaching department.
Coaches fully settled and in place don't have bucket loads of time to implement plans given injuries and internationals being away, let alone with the constant comings and goings with mixed messages and injuries that we have seen here.
The basics have been pretty shoddy from everyone as a result of the above and teams need the basics to work, they can't just turn up and play at most levels, they get torn apart at any level let alone this level!
Keep on changing coaches and styles of play etc doesn't always work for everyone, it can also be a great way to make some players look worse than they actually are.
I'd add, the modern high level player is more reliant on coaching and tactics than ever before, most aren't actually the best players coming through, they are the biggest, and therefore very reliant on coaching and a style of play that fits them!

Comments on the Munster Forum...

"Report in today's Mail on Sunday that Leicester are trying to sign Jaco Taute for next season. I would hate to see him go but with the emergence of Arnold and particularly Dan Goggin it probably makes sense for him to move on. Such a shame injury spoiled so much of his time here."

"Interesting- and really, while it would be shame to see the guy go, he’s no longer what we need. I think playing and training with him will have helped scannell, Goggin and others- but would be happy to see him go to Leicester, with a winners medal in his back pocket."

"He was just what we needed when he started but it's time for him to move on. Younger, Irish qualified guys are now playing at or above his level in his position. Did a great job for us though."

So.....
Article also mentions Keatley, would take him also as back up for the 10 shirt. I assume we are looking at either Reid or Du Preez to be replacement fly half for next season.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Williams at 15 and Jonah on the wing - if they pick on current form.

Jonathan Joseph still hasn't got a club next season.

Is it worth trying to sign him?

I doubt we can afford to fit him into the cap if the figures that Bristol and Northampton are offering him are true

Yes and he could get his England place back too, especially with how poor Slade's defending has been! Stay away Tigers!
