Took him half a season to implement anything and then sacked for Maugers mate. Didn't he get banned for betting, and then struggle at Wasps.

Would be very Tigers-like to bring him back.
Banned for 6 months for two breaches of anti-corruption and betting rules. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/33278703

Phil Blake? If that's true then that's such an uninspiring appointment. Another coach who no doubt ticks the 'Okay by the senior players' box.

There's such a lack of imagination in that recruitment. More of the same as far as I'm concerned. All seems very comfortable.

Please tell me you are joking.

He was at Wasps for 2 years and their defense was woeful.

No defence coach can make a player actually be bothered to make a tackle. Therein lies the problem and if they cannot mend their ways move them on regardless of who they are!

Some of you may be interested to know that Murphy has known for a few weeks that the club wanted him as the permanent Head Coach.

Ben Kay confirmed this on Rugby Tonight.

But his record at Wasps was poor and he's coached here before - both being all that matters to some on here.

As I recall he left because of the betting thing and not because of the performance of the defence under his guidance.

Looks like I was spot on about the inbreeding though, looks like it's not coming to an end then if Blake comes back! How shortsighted?!

Blake was replaced when Mauger brought in his own defence coach (Scott Hansen). Whilst he was here his work was good and the betting emerged affter he was known to be leaving.
Lets give the guy a chance along with the rest of the coaching staff.......we need to lift the performances somehow.
