Seems Joe Ford has redeemed himself with a try. Looking good after about 60 minutes.

I see we won 24-13.
How did we play? Any standout players on either side?

Reffell and Evans got through a lot of work
Hardwick outplayed Umaga
Back 3 looked lively.
Starting scrum destroyed wasps.
Line out looked decent good mail work
Defence around the fringes still gave up yards at times but generally did well.
Wasps players to watch
15, replacement winger, Fenner (shame we couldn’t get him back), West

Was the "good mail work" mainly near the post? Sorry couldn't resistRagingBull wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 11:37 pm Reffell and Evans got through a lot of work

No mention of Mapapalangi? If he had any idea of forcing his way into the first 15 he ought to be dominating at development level.RagingBull wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 11:37 pm Reffell and Evans got through a lot of work

We won that game when the Wasps fullback’s hamstring pulled and he was subsituted, he was their most threatening player.
It seems at any level, Mapapalangi is hit and miss in his defence, missed one or two one on one tackles, pretty sure Tigers scored from one but other than that defence was sound and there were some good double tackles. The defence of the right winger (from Loughborough) was key in denying Wasps second half tries.

I see that there is a derogatory comment about Joe Ford by someone who was not at the match, for those that were not there and those who were but failed to see, Joe had a good game, was better on the day than Jacob Umaga and probably more influential than Tom Hardwick who played pretty well in his under 20's position at 12 and also dropping in to fly half when Ford was sin binned for attempting a one handed interception when defending close to our line.
This was a decent performance by our lads against what was generally a heavier and taller team.
