Dr H Flashman MBE wrote: Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:35 pm All my Bristol supporting pals (including Flashman Snr) are really excited about this game. They see it as a game that they can and will win. Their confidence is that we look so weak in defence and they love to run the ball in broken play, will expose us. We need to smash them up front and keep the ball away from them. Go old school and grind them down. Could do without my Father mocking me for the next 3 months...

Liking the faith in Jake Kerr.

That's a great starting XV with a bit of extra ammuition on the bench.

We really should/need to win this.

Does anyone know why the game kicks off at 1o’clock but isn’t televised?

Alapati Leiua returns from international duty. The Samoan winger is one of nine changes to the side that suffered a narrow defeat to Wasps last weekend. In the backline, Siale Piutau slots into midfield, while Ian Madigan and Harry Randall form a new-look half-back partnership.

In the front row, Yann Thomas returns from a dead leg, while Harry Thacker – fresh from a hat-trick at the Ricoh – also earns a start. Joe Joyce is named in the engine room, while George Smith and former Tiger Jordan Crane come into the back row.

Still no back row balance on bench.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Smurf keeps faith with Kerr and Eastmond; Bateman and OTY unavailable; Smith preferred to Owen(?).

Really ought to be a strong win.

May, Thompstone, Holmes

Bateman, Kerr, Cortes, Fitzgerald, Kalamafoni, Harrison, Ford G, Smith.
Interesting to see how many are noting that Ford G isn't even the best 10 at Leicester let alone England!

That is an impressive squad packed full of past or present first or second team internationals. No excuse as far as the talent is concerned, what matters is how we control territory, defend, retain possession and ultimately how we get over the gain line, so lets see if the structure and creativity are showing any signs of developing since the last effort v. Sarries!!

2 people is not really that much.

Though there are some that still think Burns is better than Ford. :smt017

It's a shame Bateman is unavailable.
Given the need to find balance I can understand the thinking of Kerr to start and TPN on the bench, just a great shame that it could be letting Bristol off the hook a little at scrum time, but that's only if they all drop the ball a lot!

Don't know. Looks like BT Sport have chosen Sarries vs Wasps (Sat) and Bath vs Sale (Sun)

Bristol City FC play at home on Sunday (130pm) so presume it gives the ground staff more time to switch the stadium back.
