Now time to make some serious noise.

Post by Ian Cant »

Now O’Connor has gone I am sure on Saturday we will once again turn Welford Road into the stadium where we fans make one hell of a noise- all through the game. Forget the past, time to move on, get behind the team like never before. Well done The BoD to have the guts to make the change. Hope O’Connor and his family enjoy life back in Australia: I wanted him gone but felt the Board got it wrong appointing him and therefore him going was inevitable given his record as a coach at Leinster etc.
Come on TIGERS.

Ian, try telling Cohen how good he was at Leinster, he thought he was marvelous and rubbished me when I spoke to him about the poor appointment. Leinster couldn't wait to get rid of him, I understood he lost the dressing room there. I'm worried by whom Cohen takes his advice from! Past players had recommended him and senior players agreed!
Perhaps we should now forget it, its gone, so what's next?

Agree. I was debating about even going on Saturday given the embarrassment at the weekend, but now I will be and I'm expecting a W!!

And that demonstrates either a) lack of understanding and appreciation of the abilities and qualities required of a head coach or b) obfuscation re the world wide search previously stated. MOC should not be alone in his leaving.

I agree with Ian's original post. Time to move on and get behind the team.

Let's turn Welford back into the ground that no opposition team wants to visit and let's start on Saturday. I'll be on the Crumbie bellowing for all I'm worth, cheering the players on, giving the officials the benefit of my advice, and politely telling the opposition what I think of them if they infringe as always. COME ON YOU TIGERS!! :smt038 :smt038 :smt038
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Its time to make some serious noise alright.

Serious noise that major changes need to be made ABOVE the DoR.

Completely agree. We are in this mess because of this "Rugby Board", an insistance that Ged is Head of Rugby Operations and the fact that the club hasn't got an appointment right since Cockers promotion.

In my mind, the "rugby committee" should be Director of Rugby, Head Coach, Head of Academy, and Chief Scout. Board appoints DoR and Head of Academy, Head Coach by DoR and Chief Scout by both the DoR and HoA. Director of Rugby is then directly answerable to the CEO. Keep Tom out of it, as he listens far too much to the senior players, who in the last 5 years, haven't earnt their right to dictate appointments IMHO.

Would also be happy to see Tom moved to Non-Executive Chairman, and Ged moved to Head of Academy. Keep Dusty as Chief Scout and bring in a DoR. Also, allow extra funding to provide specialist Forwards, Backs, Defense, Attack, Half Backs, Scrum and Line out coaching. Obviously, these can be doubled up, so your Forwards coach could do the Scrum, Backs doing attack, Head coach doing defense etc. but I would not include the DoR in that as they should only be overseeing.

But I'm probably in a fantasy world.
