Hopefully with a bit more confidence we’ll see him attack the gainline more and utilise his good handling ability.

Let two balls bounce and one of which he completely missed near the touch line and was a miracle it did not lead to conceding a try.
Of course, players cannot make ANY mistakes can they?!

Blake did well, and will be an improvement on Deacs.

We still need a DOR though.
Why do we need a DOR?

Good player but honestly with the back row options coming up would rather we targeted a proper out and out 8 than another 6/8.
When did we last sign an out and out 8? TTTE?

If we are targeting the back row, we need an 8 or can break the gain line. Kalamafoni puts a lot of effort in but he doesn't often break the line. Another 6 cum 8 isn't going to improve that
Probably 2015 - Opeti Fonua
Opeti Fonua - lots of yards, just tended to leave the ball behind, if he’d managed to catch it in the first place!

I am 99% certain that I saw Varndell outside the ground after the Quins game.
As journeymen go he’s got quite a good try scoring record! :smt003
No where in the text you've quoted does it suggest anyone is a journeyman. :smt017
I was merely referencing other posts... hence the use of :smt003

A Cockerill coached team thrives best with a big No8 at the back, with us it was Thomas Waldrom, obviously Fonua was an attempt at having that big Number 8 but he was unfortunate failure. And now at Edinburgh they are thriving with Fijian Viliame Mata who in my opinion is world class.

He really wasn't a bad player, I just think the time's moved on without him a bit as his career went on

He wasn't but he was at times a luxury we could afford such was the dominance of our pack. I would never put him up there with the top number 8s.

Jordan Crane before his injury was a fine player IMO.
I think people forget how good he was in his prime, he wasn't a luxury he was the reason we could have a luxury like Croft at 6 and he never deserved the reaction he did towards the end of his time here, the likes of Waldrom was 100% about themselves whereas the likes of Crane was 100% about the club, play over 200 games for Tigers and still gets stick from fans it's ridiculous.

He scored the only try that won us the 2008/09 prem final.
He kicked the winning penalty to get us to our LAST European final in 09.

The same people will go on about Exeter seem to forget their pack is built on players like Crane, not superstars (Now Simmonds is injured at least) but all know their place and all will give 100%.

Just my opinion,Croft was a true world class player at his peak,Crane solid if unspectacular. Good at everything ,great at nothing. "Gainline" Crane was coined for a reason.

Jordan Crane was always massively underappreciated by the fans and this forum alike but for me was always the first name on the team sheet. He is the kind of player that wins you the big games through his willingness to dive on the bouncing ball, his consistency at taking the kickoff cleanly (one of our biggest weaknesses in recent times) and his ability to anchor the scrum at 8.

Luxury?!? The man was a workhorse for the team. Tackling, running into brick walls, anchoring the scrum all the unfashionable jobs the pack needed him to do. Post injury he was nowhere near dynamic enough for international rugby but luxury he certainly was not.

It's just my opinion,I saw nothing special. Neither did the England selectors. Solid but thats it,another RC favourite too apparently.
