Re: Bears down Bath
Bristol's replacement scrum half made a massive impact.
Bath were very poor. Played like us last season, no imagination and a lot of handling errors.

Well, we've learnt something tonight. Neither of those two are anything to fear. And I mean that with all due respect. I am sure Bath can get better. And I'm sure Bristol will take confidence from the win. And by the way I am not saying we are anything to fear yet.

Re: Bears down Bath
I think Bristol at home will do that to a few more teams this season, but at least those arriving after have the chance to see what's coming and adapt.
Bath were pretty poor tonight, Homer failing to touch down was criminal but then so was Priestland shipping the ball onto him in the first place - no need to. Couldn't take their chances nor make their pressure count for anything.
First match of season so rust inevitable but there'll be a bit of egg on Ba*h faces after that, lots of stars but no constellation tonight.
Tom Dunn's lineout throw at the end, pressure on and failed big time, is one of the reasons I'm not laughing - because that's exactly how we were last season, choked lines at important times.
Fair play to Brizzle, weathered the storm at times, good start for them. Morahan was outstanding.

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
Re: Bears down Bath
Bristol looked to pick up a few injuries....this will test the depth of their squad if the injuries are significant.
Hope that they manage to stay up and remain competitive against all sides.

If you go down to the woods today!
Only one game and like a cup final for the Bears.
We shall see how they cope when the bosh league really begins to take its toll.
Although Bath were very poor they were still taking control until Louw came on, dropped the ball with Roko free outside him and then missed a crucial tackle.
The refereeing was shocking, feeding, crooked scrummaging, forward passes, forearms galore on the floor at the breakdown, really poor from Sir!

Re: Bears down Bath
I have a feeling that, once again, they will flatter to deceive. I'm sure they will get some wins when everything "clicks" for them and the opposition is not fully on their own game. However I don't think they will have the consistency to mount a concerted challenge.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

I hope this is not the new reffing standard cos I will ask for my ST refund on Consumer grounds, product not Rugby Union.BFG wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 10:09 pm If you go down to the woods today!

Re: Bears down Bath
Bath were poor, very poor, Priestland international fly half, no way.
No mention yet of Thacker, he had a good game in the loose, still not sure about his scrummaging, anyway we don't have that worry now.
Hurrell and Crane both had OK ish games, certainly no loss to us either.
Bris. replacement SH was great, as was their winger, and their Captain. Need to see more games, but they could eventually struggle if injuries do occur, they will be pleased when Piatua is fit! (whats his brother doing?)
