Can't believe he's still here tbh.
Looking at the way Bath and Saints have worked in the off season I think we are in serious trouble with his 'dynamic' approach to rugby.
Pre-season means nothing.
Tigers looked unbeatable last pre-season and look how that went. I wouldn't read too much into any other teams pre-season games really.
The worrying thing from our POV is we don't seem to be learning from anything last season.

I'm not specifically referring to the preseason games - I am referring to the squad, the backroom staff, the preparation and approach to off season etc. Im seeing teams do lots of squad building activities, even with the injured - the only thing I have seen from Tigers so far on that aspect was a team photo shoot....okay ill admit, it didn't go well for Glous, but still
Saint more so than Bath show a greater level of organisation and execution.
Of course as the real preseason games kick in we will get a better picture, but I am already not looking forward to next Friday night. Not given how LI performed against Munster.
Not good and as others have said no smoke without fire and similar smoke was wafting around concerning 'senior players' before Loffreda and Cockers got fired.
I was never impressed with MoC and his attempts to 'Aussify' Tigers and apart from Denton and possibly Spencer I'm underwhelemed by the off season recruitment, especially Eastmond.
TBH I'm epecting this season to be similar to the last (which was the worst in the 21c), but hoping I'm wrong. a poor start to the season though and MoC will be home for Christmas.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
On reading the article the club has a few choices. Ignore it. It’s not true and we aren’t interested in saying anything to add to it or that can be spun. Or debunk it. Say it’s a load of garbage journalistic nonsense and that particular reporter may never enter Welford road again due to their subversive article. Get Mr Cohen to come out and say it’s all lies. However, there are rumours of senior players having the ear of the board in relation to mangers. I guess the truth like most things is somewhere in between.
I think we will lose the Exeter, but it’s the games after we need to square away. If we are mid table by December MOC could be in trouble and quite rightly. This was his pre season to get recruitment right. But the huge question is, he gets fired, who replaces him??

There's an excellent Head Coach at Edinburgh doing a superb job. We could see if he wants to come to us. He has a record with his previous club of winning titles and always finishing in the play offs as well as getting Edinburgh into their league play offs for the first time in ages.

My only thought to that would be the saying “never go back”..Liz Taylor and Richard Burton...
Yes its if Cockers left after winning the double or something! Winners to losing finalists to losing SFists with him in charge, and the rot has just continued! Here's a novel idea why don't we just hire a crack team of recruitment specialists and scour the world leaving no stone unturned?

No to cockers from me.
It's like people almost forget the final 3 seasons with him.
Sure Tigers had heart but we still got smashed a few times.
Agreed.
We need to identify the problems in the set up. If it's the case of overall man management and ethos then we need a Johnno type to come in as DOR and set the tone (not necessarily take over the coaching). If it's game plan and strategy then it's a coaching adjustment we need and it's maybe the case we have to spend some serious money.

Yeah RC has done well up there............. Half the Scotland squad in there really helps on that front along with some good mercs.
Give Tigers half the England squad and I'm sure MoC would have a much better time.
Lets be honest the Rot set in before Deano was booted out and the same rot that was caused by Neil Back and Andy Key never left when they did and just hung around, seemed on common factor in all of it but the funny thing is RC has gone and better players are happier to come now and the side looks on a better footing already, MoC may not be the best man but he has made the right steps and we are getting there.
I just hope the BOD have a decent replacement for MOC lined up because, let's be honest, he's unlikely to see out the season. I'm fairly sure they won't have.
Looks as though it’ll be Murphy until they have a consultant for the rest of the season, I’m thinking the Board will go for that Denis Betts, the bloke that just got sacked from 12th place Widnes Vikings .

If you followed Edinburgh before RC got there then you would know you're speaking complete rubbish. There are only 2 teams in Scotland, Edinburgh has always had a lot of Scottish internationals.
biffer is the resident expert on Edinburgh - see what he/she thinks of RC's performance.
