No Dan Cole for England

Post by Ian Cant »

Is Dan Cole injured as he isn’t named in the England training squad?
Will our England players now be missing for the Worcester game on 23 September?

No, not injured. All players rested for the summer tour are still rested.

Eddie has said there's one day of actual training. Dan knows the systems well enough having been around the squad for so long. He was given a full preseason and Eddie isn't going to cut that short. Dan needs to be in perfect condition for this season and the RWC that follows.

To be honest, I know it’s only a training squad, but it’s the happiest I’ve been about an England squad for a while. Despite the like of Woodward and Trinder and the over-representation of Harlequins players, the squad is really good. Great to see Ashton recalled, Cipriani retained and the U20s called up, Kruis I think will move clubs soon with the emergence of Kopku.
